History:  Ernie started in the fall of 1969 with an youth group of 15 senior high school kids, and within six weeks grew it to over 80.  By the following year, 1970, it was over 100.  In 1971 it was then necessary to expand the YF to three nights which eventually led to an average weekly attendance of well over 200  feeding in from 12 different high schools in Santa Clara county.  The high attendance for any one week was 346.  Those three YF nights became the hub for a larger ministry that included the Good Sam Singers, Bible Study, recreation nights, monthly "GS Singer" concerts at convalescent homes and Elmwood prison, Paper Drives, and many other events.  Click here to see more about Good Sam UMC!
